I wanted to play with dimension. Watercolour, because of its translucency is very much 2D so to get the 3D perspective right you have to play with texture and focus.

Riaan only discovered his artistic talents early in 2008 and has since then submitted himself under the instruction of Fernanda De Lange at The Art Studio, where he is being guided into his full potential. Riaan is a Surrealist and he uses all mediums. His favorites are pencil, watercolour and oils. He is especially gifted with portraits and wild life works.
